Background

The Industry Specific Special Economic Zone at Sitapura Industrial Complex, Jaipur is being established for Gems and Jewellery Units. The Ministry of Commerce and Industries, Govt. of India has approved the Project on 21.05.2003. State Government has published Gazette Notification of the "Rajasthan Special Economic Zones Development Ordinance, 2003" on 02.07.2003. The Hon'ble Chief Minister of Rajasthan has laid the foundation stone of this project on 28.07.2003.

 

The Special Economic Zone has been specified by the Central Govt. under Section 76/A of the Customs Act, 1962 vide Notification No. 60/2003-Cus(N.T.) dated 01.08.2003 amended vide Notification N0 60/2004-Cus(N.T.) dated 30.4.2004.

 

The Commissioner of Custom, Jaipur has notified the same as Customs Bonded Area under Section 8 of the Customs Act, 1962 vide Notification No. 01/2003-Cus(N.T.) dated 18.9.2003.

ALLOTMENT :

 

All the 51 plots have been allotted to 41 nos. entrepreneurs.

 

CONSTRUCTION/PRODUCTION ACTIVITIES :

 

Fifteen allottees have started the construction work and three allottees have commenced the production in 6 nos. of plots.

 

 

INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT:-

 

Following high class infrastructure shall be  provided in the SEZ.

i)                    9'-0" high compound wall plus 2'-0" high wire fencing all around the zone.

ii)                   Double lane Paver roads

iii)                 Well designed Drains

iv)                 Parks, water body.

v)                  Water supply scheme.

vi)                 Street lighting

vii)               Uninterrupted Power Supply.

viii)           Common facility Building

 

Present Status of development works:

 

1.      The Boundary wall of the zone including Guard Rooms have been completed.

2.      The Road & CD works, drains & approaches have been completed.

3.      The Electrification work including street light work have been completed.

4.      Water supply work has been completed. Water Connections have been released to 2 nos. entrepreneurs.

5.      The work of construction of CFC is under progress. The building is likely to be completed by the end of April 2006.

 

Expenditure :

 

A sum of Rs.502.82 lac has been incurred for development of SEZ till 31.10.2005.

 

Note : The Area  has been declared developed w.e.f. 01.04.2005.
