SPECIAL ECONOMIC ZONE, PHASE II, SITAPURA, JAIPUR
1. PREAMBLE Special Economic Zones (SEZs) are specifically delineated duty-free enclaves treated as a foreign territory for the purpose of industrial, service and trade operations, with exemption from customs duties and a more liberal regime in respect of other levies, foreign investment and other transactions. Domestic regulations, restrictions and infrastructure inadequacies are sought to be eliminated in the SEZs for creating a hassle-free environment. The SEZ Scheme seeks to create a transparent system by introducing simplified procedures for enchancing productivity and making it easier to do business. According to Government of India guidelines, SEZs can be developed in the public, private or joint sectors, or by the State Governments. They are expected to promote establishment of large, self-contained areas supported by world-class infrastructure oriented towards export production. Exploiting the full potential of the concept, SEZs would bring large dividends to the State in term of economic and industrial development and generation of new employment opportunities. 2. OBJECTIVES This Special Zone has been planned for Gems & Jewellery only. The prime objectives of the Government is to develop specially delineated economic zones conforming to the guidelines of the Government of India to provide enabling infrastructure and a hassle free environment to promote exports from the State. Special emphasis will be laid on development of product specific Special Economic Zones to harness inherent potential of the State in the fields of Handicrafts, which would result in increase in exports of these commodities with high value addition. 3. STATUS Special Economic Zone Phase II has been planned for Gem, Jewellery units. Land for SEZ Phase - II is in possession with the RIICO. This project has been proposed with RIICO as Developer. The land allotment rate for SEZ - II is Rs. 2000/- per sqm. (10% extra for corner plots) Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of India has issued approval of the project.  Highlights of SEZ, Phase - II, Sitapura are as under :-

Land Application Forms may be obtained by remitting Rs. 150 vide DD in favour of "RIICO Ltd." Amount can also be remitted in foreign currency equivalent to US $ 5.00.
