CIRCULAR

Sub: Permissibility of concessions towards bulk land allotment for

educational institution.

In pursuance of IDC decisions taken vide item 16 on 18.8.2001 and vide item 22 on 10.12.2001, office order no. 2001/45 dated 19.9.2001 & office order no. 2001/56 dated 29.12.2001 were issued. Accordingly, it was decided to allow a rebate @ 10% in the rate of development charges for an allotment of minimum 10,000 sqm. land for setting-up of educational institution in the slow moving & normal industrial areas. This rebate was to be increased to @ 0.5% per 1,000 sqm. for the allotment of land for more than 10,000 sqm. subject to maximum rebate @ 25% taken together.

An additional rebate @ 10% over & above 25% was also to be allowed in case of a minimum investment of Rs. 50 crores within 5 years on the minimum plot size of 40,000 sqm.

In view of the queries raised by some unit heads it is further clarified that in view of aforesaid position rebates are also permissible in the cases of land allotment of plots measuring 10,000 sqm. & above for setting-up of all types of Educational Institutions in slow-moving and normal industrial areas as admissible to the plots allotted for setting-up of educational institutions. However, such rebates are not admissible, in the cases of land allotments for setting-up of schools in the areas, where a separate policy exists for such a purpose.

This issues with the approval of ED.
